I’m a second career COTA, after receiving my teaching degree and working in early childhood education and with elementary school aged children I realized that the things I wanted to do with the kids in my classes was being done by an occupational therapist. Things like motor control, emotional regulation, and social skills, so, I sold my house, moved into a friend’s basement for two years and went back to school. After graduation I was offered a job at a local hospital where I worked from 2018 to 2021 including working a year exclusively on a COVID ICU and step down unit. COVID caused me to realize that I wanted to be closer to family causing my relocation to ABQ in early 2021 to be close to my brother and his family (including my now six year old niece LIlia whom I love more than air) while continuing to work in a hospital setting including psychiatric and general medicine. A return to working with children had been the hope for several years and am thrilled to be working with children in their schools, homes and clinic spaces. Things I love: glitter, kinetic sand, card games, hiking, camping, dogs and exploring this state and surrounding area.
